The Sacred Mandala Wenara Wana or known as the Ubud Monkey Forest is one of the popular tourist destinations in Bali. This tourist spot is 24 km from Denpasar City, or an hour's drive by car.

Quoted from the official website ubudmonkeyforest.com, Ubud Monkey Forest is home to more than a thousand Balinese long-tailed monkeys or Macaca fascicularis. The monkey herd is divided into seven groups that occupy several different areas in this forest.

Not only as an attractive tourist spot in Bali, Wenara Wana is also considered a sacred forest. Thousands of monkeys are free to roam without any partitions or cages. The tourists can freely interact with these monkeys. It is in this forest that these long-tailed monkeys are cared for and respected.

They are considered to be a spiritual part of the temples in this area. The long-tailed monkeys are considered as a manifestation of the famous Hanuman. Ubud Monkey Forest has an area of 27 hectares, in the form of a dense forest divided by several winding paths. There are several statues that are sacred to the local community. Not to forget there are 3 different temples in it. Monkey Forest Ubud is the site of a temple dating from the mid-13th century. The three are Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, Beji Temple and Prajapati Temple. This place is located in the village of Padangtegal and is managed by villagers who directly work at the Ubud Monkey Forest.
